Kentwood Finance Department
The Finance Department serves internal and external customers by managing the City's financial activities, and providing information for decision-making. These activities include:
Budget preparation & monitoring;
Financial reporting & audit administration;
Fiscal forecasting & capital planning;
Financial policy development, implementation & monitoring;
Technology development & support – keeping the City connected;
Purchasing – goods & services for City operations;
Accounts payable – payments to suppliers & others;
Payroll – payments to employees;
Pension & other post-employment benefits administration;
Cash management & investing;
Financial institution relationship management;
Debt issuance & administration; bond ratings;
Risk & claims management;
The City's Fiscal Year begins on July 1st each year and ends the following June 30th.
