Kentwood Finance Department

The Finance Department serves internal and external customers by managing the City's financial activities, and providing information for decision-making. These activities include:
  • Budget preparation & monitoring;
  • Financial reporting & audit administration;
  • Fiscal forecasting & capital planning;
  • Financial policy development, implementation & monitoring;
  • Technology development & support – keeping the City connected;
  • Purchasing – goods & services for City operations;
  • Accounts payable – payments to suppliers & others;
  • Payroll – payments to employees;
  • Pension & other post-employment benefits administration;
  • Cash management & investing;
  • Financial institution relationship management;
  • Debt issuance & administration; bond ratings;
  • Risk & claims management;

The City's Fiscal Year begins on July 1st each year and ends the following June 30th.
