MAYOR’S OFFICE:

  1. COMMISSIONER-AT-LARGE INTERVIEWS.

Mayor Pro-Tem Brown opened the meeting with the instructions they ask one question, the same question for all candidates. City Attorney Sluggett reviewed the Open Meeting Act, noting they are allowed to take notes and that they are not FOIAable. Deputy Administrator Rambo informed the Committee there were three applicants who did not meet the criteria or were late in submitting their applications and requested direction, if they wanted to consider them for the vacancy. After a brief discussion none of the three will be considered. Of the seventeen candidates, one had removed their name for consideration. All were allowed ten minutes for the interview. After all of the candidates had been interviewed the Committee discussed their top candidates. A vote was taken to recommend a candidate to the City Commission with no candidate receiving the needed amount of votes. The Committee decided to discuss further at the March 21st Committee of the Whole, to try to select a candidate.

PUBLIC COMMENT:

A member of the public commended on the possible public view point.
