The Recreation Department is responsible for the coordination of recreational and sports activities for many groups within the City of Kentwood. The Recreation Department is also responsible for growth and development of many of our beautiful parks.
Mission Statement:
The Kentwood Parks and Recreation Department is an essential service established to improve the overall quality of life for all of Kentwood.

We're Moving... temporarily

The Kentwood Activities Center at 355 48th St. SE will be closed for renovations from December 7, 2017-March 2, 2018. During this time, staff will be relocated to Kentwood City Hall (4900 Breton SE) and scheduled programs will move to alternate locations.

Tree Lighting Ceremony & Holiday Light Parade
Friday, December 8, 6:00-8:00pm

2017-Tree-Lighting-Flyer-flattened.jpgJoin us for the Annual Community Tree Lighting Ceremony! This year's event takes place on a Friday night starting with a holiday light parade. There will also be hay rides, hot chocolate and cookies, live music, caroling, and of course a visit from Santa! Don't forget to stop by the Elves Express Gift Shop inside the library from 5-8pm for great gifts for the whole family!

Valentine's Dash 5k Run & Walk
Saturday, February 10, 11:00am-12:30pm
Kentwood Library, 4950 Breton SE

This course is great for first-time runners but will also provide a challenge to more experienced runners. This race is perfect for running with your sweetie, sole mate, BFF or to meet someone new!
